Now that this (photographic) year is ending as far as weddings are concerned I always look to what else I can photograph as a challenge, and as a job. I have been doing a lot of school sports type work with a good friend of mine who is good at getting us involved in school photography. Today we are taking pictures at an Easter Seals school for special needs children, they really had trouble getting other photographers to do it because the kids are not always easy to work with, BIG DEAL. My friend and I jumped on it and are happy to do it, why not? The kids are cute and fun and did a very good job the 1st time we did their pictures. I have done many types of photography, I have done photos in the operating room when I did Medical Photography, I have been on the sidelines of a football field covering a college game, a wedding or two each weekend, and you know what? It's all challenging...Thats not a bad thing!

My friend is so lucky
A good friend of mine (another photographer) just got back from Hawaii. He has a friend that got married there and he flew my friend there to shoot his wedding. I got to see the photos tonight and they were great, he told me if he had taken his wife and son there with him he probably would have stayed for good. He is a good friend and a good photographer and I was glad for him that he got a chance like that, I hope to have a chance at something like that someday. I thought it was a nice story and I wanted to post it.

I'll try to keep up
During this time of year I don't do much on my blog, it's been a busy wedding season so far and it has gone pretty well. I got to do my niece's wedding in July and that was a thrill for me, she is my 1st niece and it meant a lot to me. She was very happy with her photos and that also meant a lot to me, I have one or two of her photos on the website and I try to change them up occasionally.
I have not been on here for a while but I'll try to keep up.
Take care,
Dino

Bye Feb. & March
If you live in the Northeast and photograph mostly weddings you are real happy to see Feb. & March go away. I can only speak for myself here but those months are killers! cause it is slow and depressing and you can't afford anything. Thank goodness when spring rolls in because not only does it hopefully start getting busy and you make more money, but you also get to do what you love more often.

Industrial
This is cool, I got a call from a company I did some photos for a few years ago. They called me out of the blue and need some shots of a piece of equipment and they need it right away. It comes at a real good time because it is getting busy with weddings and this is good extra work. The last couple months were very slow and this would have been helpful around a month ago but I will sure as heck take it now. Feast or Famine.

The Slow Season
Even though the busy wedding season is sometimes real busy and very exhausting, I can't wait to get through the slow season and back to a more consistant schedule. No matter how busy myself or any one who works at this type of job are, I have learned over the years that it is not nearly as busy as the bride and groom are in planning one day in their lives. As much as I enjoy a bit of a break in the slow season I really look forward to getting back to that fast paced busy wedding season.

2008
I have now officially gotten a couple of bookings for 2008, It is good to have them this early in 2007 and good to know people are planning early and saving money by locking in prices as they are now.

Coffee table books are coming on stronger
I am planning on getting more involved in Coffee Table books, I have done them before but never for myself. I have done them for other companies as a side job but now I am planning on my own line.
